Playing
There is plenty to do for all ages both inside and outside of the house. The play room is well-stocked for our younger guests with toys and games. The snug/library is equipped with a plethora of books and DVD's as well as some of the more popular board games.
Children will love playing hide-and-seek in hidden rooms and can enjoy midnight feasts in the larger bedrooms. More mature visitors can challenge themselves on the snooker table in the snooker room and there is a full-sized table-tennis table on the rear terrace for some alfresco ping-pong. We also keep a range of equipment at the house for outdoor sports such as badminton, cricket, rounders, football, volleyball and rugby. Grab a glass of bubbles and submerge yourself in the hot tub on the terrace which is available at an additional cost.
If you want to venture further afield, the bustling market town of Dorchester and the seaside treats of Weymouth lie no more than a 10 minute drive away. Upwey itself is a delight with two excellent and walkable local pubs, an art gallery, the 13th century Church of St Laurence and the celebrated Upwey Wishing Well and Tea Rooms.
Upwey House is perfect for families of multiple generations, groups of friends with small children, for special celebrations and for corporate groups and weddings. It's little wonder that our guests come back time and time again.
